Principal’s Message

Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year. This past year we faced may challenges none of us ever experienced before amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Several families and staff members were impacted on a personal level or through friends and acquaintances. However, teachers, students, parents, administrators, and staff pulled together with absolute resilience, to provide quality educational experiences in face-to-face and online instruction. We overcame many hurdles and regrouped to ensure this school year closes the achievement gap many students faced during the previous school year.

The energy and commitment at North Twin Lakes (NTL) Elementary School continues to be strong, and I am honored that you have made the decision to be a part of our “NTL Family.”  Our school has been recognized as a school of distinction due to our academic success in years passed and the quality educational programs we provide. Our accomplishments continue to be recognized on a global level as we received international distinction of a Cambridge Center during the summer of 2014. Our practices include providing one of the most rigorous and complete educational experiences in the country.

Our school offers Before Care services starting at 6:30 a.m. Monday through Friday and After Care Services from to dismissal to 6:00 p.m. A Story Hour program is available for Pre-K, Kindergarten and 1st Grade students from dismissal to 3:00 p.m. This program is utilized primarily when there are siblings that are dismissed at two different times during the school day. Study Hall is available on Wednesdays since all students are dismissed at the same time. Community School classes are also available to include: Reading/Math Tutoring, Ballet, Dance, Soccer, Art, and Piano. These fee-based classes allow students to develop their intrinsic abilities in the arts and athletics. Working parents have options to ensure their children are supervised from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. through the availability of these fee-based programs.

We also have exciting programs focusing on engineering that are available during the day and after school through the use of LEGO, robotics, and other manipulatives. We encourage our students to think outside the box and use their creativity and skills to develop building and analytical skills. We are also very committed to the infusion of technology. All classrooms have interactive Promethean boards, computers, and laptops.

Finally, I would like to reassure all parents that NTL is maintaining optimum safety and health standards as we meet the guidelines of the District and the Center for Disease Control (CDC). Sanitation is a primary concern and stations are provided in key areas on our campus. We will continue to maintain social distancing as required and continue to monitor/evaluate any situations that arise. Once again, thank you for selecting NTL for your child’s educational needs. We are very grateful and excited to open our doors on August 23rd and begin what we know will be an outstanding school year.
